Fife SE-44 Ultrasonic Sensor
Read MoreThe sensor SE-44 uses ultrasonic sound to detect the web edge. Its light weight, small size, and insensitivity to ambient light make it ideal for most web guiding applications.
The SE-44 ultrasonic sensor measures the lateral position of the guided material. The sensor field of view (proportional band) is 10 mm, allowing significant guide point adjustment.
The SE-44 is often used in pairs for center guiding when web width variations are limited. The SE-44 sensor can be used to control most opaque materials as well as transparent ones.Fife offers a wide variety of sensor mountings and positioning assemblies for use with the SE-44 ultrasonic sensor. Depending on the application, standard or custom designed mounting brackets can be provided to ensure quick and easy installations.
The SE-44 can be used with any of our applicable guiding systems or as a retrofit/upgrade for existing systems.
The SE-44 can be connected to all available Fife web guide controllers.

Fife SE-31 Intrinsically Safe Ultrasonic Sensor
Read MoreThe SE-31-IS Ultrasonic Sensor is specifically designed to perform in hazardous locations, Class I, Division 1, Groups C & D. Ideal for guiding thin or clear films, as well as most opaque webs, this sensor is fully certified under UL, cUL (US and Canada), and CENELEC (Europe).
The SE-31-IS has control range of 7.62 mm (0.3 inch), a sensing gap of 50.8 mm (2.0 inches), and requires the same 12 VDC power supply as most other Fife sensors. The maximum sensor voltage and current is protected through a safety barrier
located outside of the hazardous area. Maximum cable length from the sensor to the controller is 4.19 m (165 feet). -
Fife SE-37 Ultrasonic Sensor
Read MoreTemperature stabilized, this sensor is ideal for guiding both clear films and most opaque webs. Because the SE-37 is unaffected by optical variation or ambient light, it eliminates the need for multiple sensors, resulting in decreased downtime and increased productivity. Improved circuitry reduces the effect of standing waves and temperature variations, which improves the overall operational performance.

Fife TruWide SE-45 Ultrasonic Sensor
Read MoreDemanding materials, multiple webs and web width variation are easy to control when you have the right sensor for the job. For years, Fife has delivered a complete family of durable, reliable sensors to maintain web alignment when you need it most. New TruWide sensor technology gives you an expanded view of the web and the ability to run opaque or clear materials. It accommodates center or edge guiding with proportional band widths ranging from 2.6” (66 mm) to 20.28” (515 mm) and 16-bit resolution for more accuracy than ever before. Choose analog for stand-alone monitoring or digital operation for multiple edge and web width detection capability. And because it’s a Fife, you know it’ll be there for the long haul.

Fife DAC-005 Camera Sensor
Read MoreThe DAC-005 Diode Array Camera Sensor is the ideal solution for a wide range of difficult to sense materials from nonwovens to steel. The camera utilizes a total of 7,725 pixels and it can split the field of view into 31 sub-areas, creating virtual sensors. Each virtual sensor can detect one edge out of 255 total.
The small housing, internal light source and different C-mount lenses allow an installation under tight field conditions. Backward compatible with older F-mount lenses as an option. Its digital sensing offers high resistance to contamination, dust particles, oil, vapors, and water.
This sensor also has the ability to connect via Analog or Digital with fieldbus interfaces and runs in a variety of applications ranging from fixed sensor rewinding, center edge, and line guiding to web width measurement with an accuracy up to 0.02%. The DAC-005 is easily set up with D-MAX Operator Interface OI-N or Mini Operator Interface OI-S.

Fife SE-46C Digital Line Guide Sensor
Read MoreThe SE-46C digital line sensor is capable of detecting lines, edges of lines and graphic patterns such as barcodes. It can also be used in low contrast conditions or with different patterns located close to each other, where traditional line sensors do not work. The SE-46C can also edge guide transparent films.
The OI-TS control panel for the SE-46C line sensor features a color touch screen, allowing for the image of the web to be displayed in full color, making the sensor calibration easy and intuitive. It is sufficient for the operator to select the desired reference line and press the automatic calibration key.
Thanks to the 30 mm wide field of view and the high resolution, the SE-46C sensor is suitable for the most demanding line guiding applications.
